Conference Highlights: Florida Christian Writers Conference (FCWC)—2025
Improving as a Christian Historical Romance Fiction writer is a constant endeavor as I seek to serve the Lord and bring Him glory through writing. Attending Christian writers' conferences is key to this goal. And let me tell you, FCWC did not disappoint. Set on the beautiful campus of Lake Yale in Florida, it was a full six days of intense classes, workshops, and connections.
I also had the immense pleasure of meeting three of my Word Weaver International group members whom I'd only met by Zoom meetings before. We had a wonderful in-person reunion, and I'm so thankful for these wonderful ladies who've helped sharpen my skills in recent years.
Below, find several of my favorite pictures from the week:
Exciting Updates from FCWC!
At every conference, there are opportunities to meet with professionals in the publishing industry, from acquisitions editors and literary agents to the publishers themselves. At Lake Yale, I met with two literary agents and a publisher from a small publishing house. Each meeting went well, and they all want to see more from me, including the one who has seen my work before.
While there are no guarantees, these are definite steps forward, and I am hopeful I'm getting ever closer to seeing my novels published.
Until then, look for more flash fiction and short stories coming your way from my writing desk.
Veterans Day—Honoring Our Veterans
A Ruby Red Perspective, a Christian Historical Romance Fiction, is set after the Korean War armistice in 1953. With thankfulness to the Lord, I am releasing the ebook today and dedicating this story in honor of Veterans Day and all our American Veterans who have fought for FREEDOM's sake. May God's blessings continue to flow on our soldiers, past and present, and on our great nation, The United States of America!
Below, find a few interesting facts about Veterans Day.

Veterans Day Facts:
Veterans Day is observed each year on November 11th. It honors all
American Veterans and began after the armistice that ended World War 1 in 1918. Originally, Veterans Day was called Armistice Day. The name was changed in 1954 to honor American veterans of all wars.
The United States has approximately 19 million veterans, which represents about 10% of the adult population.
Veterans Day is a day to honor American veterans for their patriotism, service, and love of our country. A love that compels them to put their own lives on the line for the cause of Freedom.

About Cowboy Up . . .
In the post-WWII era, a bull-riding Texan, Christopher Brooks, recovering from an injury from his last ride, must deal with the betrayal of his now ex-girlfriend, Sally, and best friend, José. As he recovers and prepares to return to the rodeo arena, he must find it in his heart to forgive and conquer his fears as he faces a fierce bull, Deer Face. His triumphant comeback is made sweeter when the nurse, his angel of mercy, who cared for him after his injury, returns. Celeste, a spirited woman with sass and class, is everything he remembered from that fateful accident and more. With a little charm from him, and compassion from her, he’s well on his way to succeeding at his next challenge—to win her heart.
