Website Forums

Happy Monday! I hope you are all healthy and making the most of your time at home. It can be a challenge, I know. I want to share a song with you today that has been a blessing to me and then I'll get into my main post for the day. Enjoy!

" Come Unto Me" by Niclole C. Mullen

Getting to Know You

Something I've been thinking about lately, is that I want to know my readers better. I always hope I'll get comments on my posts, but for some reason that's a rarity. I feel like you know all about me, but I don't really know much, if anything about you. Maybe you like it that way, but I think it would help me more as a blogger and writer, if I knew what you like or don't like. Do you read my blog because you're family and feel obligated? Do you read because you truly enjoy my posts? Do you read because you want to follow my journey as a writer? Or maybe you have another reason.

A few days ago, I realized I could create Forums on my website. I'm still working out the kinks, but you do have the ability now to go weigh in. One forum is for general discussions and the second is specifically for my blog posts. Give opinions, ideas, tell us about books you're reading, movies you like...whatever. As long as it's appropriate, I'd love to see you there not only to talk to me, but to each other.

Members Only

You do need to be subscribed to my site to join in the forums, but that's a simple process and totally free. I'm not selling anything, at least until my novels are available for sale. Even then, I don't want that to be all my site or blogs are about. So, who wants to be first? You can post a serious question, opinion or something light hearted and fun. Let's get to know each other. Let's be friends. All of us.

I've been in contact with an editor and sent her my first chapter of Hope for Charity, my first novel. She plans to edit it and then we'll discuss her rates for Copy Editing the whole manuscript. I hope with her professional touch my novel will be ready to go back to the next Literary Agent.

"What exactly does a copy editor do? Sure, copy editors correct misspellings (it’s “supersede,” not “supercede”) and whip grammar into shape (between you and me, don’t let a writer get away with “between you and I”), but there’s a lot more to it.

These grammar Svengalis are also charged with reviewing content for proper punctuation, usage and syntax; creating and/or updating in-house style rules; fine-tuning structure, tone and voice; and ensuring clarity, coherence and logical flow and consistency in words, typography, art and style."

Also, I'm still working on editing novel #2 for CampNaNoWriMo this month. Here's how I've been doing:

Apr 17, 2020-1228 words

Apr 16, 2020-1536 words

Apr 15, 2020-2035 words Apr 13, 2020-1347 words Apr 8, 2020-1745 words Apr 6, 2020-827 words Apr 3, 2020-2165 words Apr 2, 2020-898 words Apr 1, 2020-2206 words

13987 / 20000-total words

As you can see, some days go better than others, but I'm feeling good about my progress. Is there something you're working on you want to share? Tell us about it, here or start a forum. You never know who you may inspire.

Well, It's time for me to add some more words to my total. Y'all stay healthy and well! May the Lord God bless you and your family with Faith, Hope and Love. In Jesus' Name.

In Christ,

As of right now, I have two story submissions, unless I have more I'll plan to post both of them to my website, because they were brave enough to send me a story and because I like them both. If I have more submissions before midnight tonight, I'll judge between the stories and choose one or two. The Short Story Challenge stories that win will be posted on my website, beginning in May and I'll also share the stories in my next blog on May 4th, 2020. There's still time to get me your story, before the deadline. Remember, it's all for fun and as easy as telling your kids a bedtime story, just write it down! If I need to edit a little for you, I will.
